To live out the words of Psalm 67:2, “that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations,” begins not with grand achievements but with the orientation of our daily lives. This verse speaks not only of the outcome of our mission works but also of the process by which God’s character is revealed through ordinary people.
First, we must embody God’s ways before we proclaim them. God’s way is not merely doctrine but His character, expressed through justice, love, faithfulness, and mercy. Living with integrity in our homes, workplaces, and communities, caring for the vulnerable, and choosing patience and forgiveness allow God’s way to be made visible on earth. When our lives speak before our words, the message carries credibility.
Second, the message of salvation is revealed through relationships. Making God’s salvation known to all nations does not refer only to overseas missions. It also includes our neighbors, colleagues, patients, friends, and families. Rather than forcing belief or engaging in argument, we are called to live in such a way that love and trust invite meaningful questions about our hope.
Third, we fulfill this calling by being faithful in the place God has entrusted to us. Each person is called into a unique context, whether in family life, professional work, business, ministry, art, or technology. When we faithfully use our gifts and carry our responsibilities with excellence and humility, God uses our everyday work as a channel to reveal His salvation to the world.
Fourth, we must participate through prayer and humility. Psalm 67 itself is a prayer, reminding us that God’s way and salvation are not accomplished by human effort alone. Our role is to obey and to sow seeds faithfully, while trusting God to bring growth. A life rooted in prayer keeps our focus on God and allows Him to shape us as instruments of His purposes.
Ultimately, Psalm 67:2 asks not only what we should do, but who we are becoming. As we grow into people who reflect God’s character in daily life, our very existence becomes a living testimony, making His way known on earth and His salvation known among all nations.
"Live so that when people get to know you, they will want to get to know Christ."
